EY Entrepreneur of the Year TECH Award – Did EKTOS Win?

10 December 2025

The EY Entrepreneur of the Year TECH Award drew considerable attention this year, especially among Denmark’s fast-growing electronics and established engineering companies. With several standout finalists in the running, including EKTOS, the central question for many in the industry was simple: Did EKTOS win?

The short answer: not this time. The 2025 TECH Award went to QuadSAT, a Danish company whose drone-based antenna testing technology is reshaping how satellite and defence communication systems are validated.

QuadSAT has gained international attention for its drone-based and spectrum-intelligence tools that test and measure satellite and ground-segment antennas in realistic operating conditions.

Their technology identifies interference, validates antenna performance, and supports secure, reliable communications, all increasingly critical as satellite networks, defence systems, and electronic warfare capabilities expand globally.

Speaking after their win, Lars Bach, CTO at QuadSAT highlighted the collaborative ecosystem behind their success:

“This recognition means a great deal to us. We are proud of our team and thankful to our partners who supported us throughout the compliance process. Their expertise and collaboration ensured our system met the strict requirements of the industries we serve, for us to bring a fully compliant and reliable solution to market.”

EKTOS’ selection as one of the finalists in the TECH category reflects its role in accelerating electronics innovation across RFembedded systemscompliance testing, and electronics manufacturing. While the company did not secure the top spot, the recognition underscores the importance of engineering partnerships for bringing high-tech hardware to market.

“We’re proud to have stood alongside companies like QuadSAT and the other nominees in this year’s TECH category,” says Niels Martin Jørgensen, Director and Co-Founder of EKTOS Group.

“Their win is a clear example of what happens when bold ideas are combined with rigorous engineering and testing. It’s the kind of collaboration-driven innovation we aim to support for all our customers.”

QuadSAT’s win highlights a broader trend: as hardware becomes more complex, companies increasingly rely on specialised partners to fill the gaps. Few organisations can maintain every competency internally, particularly in complex, fast advancing, and often rigorous areas such as:

  • – Electronics and RF design support for capacity or niche expertise
  •
  • – Accredited testing and compliance services to meet demanding EMC, RF, safety, and regulatory requirements
  •
  • – Manufacturing and industrialisation guidance to move from prototype to scalable production
  •

EKTOS brings all of these capabilities together, helping product companies accelerate development, reduce risk, and maintain high levels of quality.

As Niels Martin adds: “When companies like QuadSAT succeed internationally, it reflects the strength of the whole engineering ecosystem behind them. If our expertise helps customers bring safer, more reliable electronics into the world, then we’re delivering on our mission.”

This Award marks progress across Denmark’s electronics and engineering sectors, where startups, scaleups, and service providers work together to push boundaries. The message is clear: Innovation thrives where collaboration is strong.
